Back to me at eleven, leading my own hillbilly band (1967). I had been playing electric guitar for two years when Roy Bookbinder, who happened to be my camp counselor, taught me traditional folk and blues. I also studied with jazzman Hy White, but the songs I wrote and sang were rock.
